Letter FROM L. Ron HUBBARD

(This letter July 14th, 1984, 18-months prior to the author’s death)

Dear Analytical Clear and Preclear MEST Readers,

The first principle of my own philosophy is that wisdom is meant for anyone who wishes to reach for it. It is the servant of the commoner and king alike and should never be regarded with awe. I’ve unlocked the highly beneficial system of Dianetics. While my best-selling book has always been affordable, it offers just a glimpse at the power you can unleash in yourself. I know that Dianetic and Scientology services should be free and I wish they were.

This system of understanding has allowed great benefits for all who follow it. For myself, I’ve achieved immortality on this earth, as you can see by my still being alive. The character actor John Travolta has been able to remain thin and healthy for life, and there is another actor who has only been in a few films now by the name of Tom Cruise who, by the time you read this, will have mastered his thetans sufficiently to measure at least 6’2” in height.

My only regret thus far is that many penetant individuals can’t afford this breakthrough religion of cosmic self-improvement until after they receive its many obvious benefits. If only there was a licensed* financial institution that could offer a range of financial tools, the world would quickly know harmony and health while enjoying competitive rates and exceptional after-the-sale service.

When you find such an institution, know that it has my full support, and give it your full support as well. You’ll thank me in the end, you’ll thank yourself in the middle, and everyone will thank everyone else sometime in between, or sometime thereabouts, or in approximation, whether in earthen years or those beyond.
